I. performance and use of UV PPC inks

UV PPC has changed the situation that "bad money drives out good money" in the industry. The basic composition of the ink is similar to that of other UV inks, but UV PPC inks, as UV inks, have a wide range of uses, and can print PC, PS, ABS, PVC, paper, gold and silver cardboard, treated pet, PP, PE and some paint panels. UV-PPC ink is a multi-purpose UV ink with low application cost, improved production efficiency and printing quality. Its basic performance indicators are shown in Table 1

II. Printing requirements and operation methods

1. Printing materials need to be fully degreased and dedusted

2. Mix the ink well before use. Due to the change of temperature, the ink will thicken or dilute. At this time, the viscosity should be adjusted through a special UV diluent. Generally, the amount of diluent should not exceed 5% of the weight of the ink, otherwise the curing speed of the ink may be reduced

3. When color overlay printing is required, attention should be paid to reducing the UV light intensity of the background color or reducing the light time, so as to avoid the phenomenon of poor color overlay adhesion due to the excessive curing of the background color

4. When the can is opened, the ink should avoid the direct irradiation of ultraviolet rays or sunlight, and the yellow light is safe light

5. Selection of silk. When printing black and white ink, the mesh number of silk should not be less than 420 mesh. When printing other colored systems, the wire should be more than 350 mesh. Pu scrapers with hardness above 70 and sharp edges should be selected as the main buyer market of talents in China's state-owned instrument and meter enterprises. When the blade of the scraper is worn, it should be reground or replaced with a new scraper immediately. When making a plate, the photosensitive glue should not be too thick. Generally, it is appropriate to use the front side once and the back side twice. As mentioned above, the purpose of this selection is to control the thickness of the ink layer. We know that UV PPC ink needs to absorb the energy of UV light in the curing process. The intensity of UV light received by the whole ink layer is gradually decreasing from the surface to the deep layer. The deeper it is, the weaker the UV light received, and the harder it is to cure. If the printing ink layer is too thick, it is difficult for UV light to penetrate into the ink layer and reach the bottom of the ink layer due to the covering nature of the ink itself. This will cause the ink to solidify deeply and reduce the adhesion. On the contrary, if you can control the thickness of the ink layer, UV light can easily penetrate to the bottom of the ink layer and solidify quickly

6. Selection of UV lamp power. The power of UV lamp can be 3 ~ 8kw, which is generally enough to meet the curing requirements of UV-PPC ink. It is worth noting that the reflector should choose a semicircular arc with light focusing function to improve the density of UV light

7. Control of curing time. There are many factors that will affect the curing time of UV-PPC ink. First of all, the color of ink is different, and the curing time is also different. Generally speaking, the curing time of white and black is longer than that of other colored inks due to their high covering property, and the power requirements of the lamp are also relatively high. Therefore, when the printing plant is operating, the curing time of white and black inks should be adjusted slower than that of other colored inks. Secondly, the size of printed graphics and texts also affects the curing time. Some small words and thin lines cure relatively fast, because they can prolong the service life of the optical fiber from the front, back, left, right and top five directions. They have always been exposed to UV light and receive a large amount of radiation energy. For some large color patches, the middle part can only accept UV light from the upper direction, and the received radiation energy is small. Therefore, the curing speed is relatively slow and the time is longer. In the process of printing factory application, many people will find such a phenomenon that in the same pattern, the adhesion of small words and lines after UV curing is very high, while the larger color is fast, and the adhesion of the middle part is not good. This phenomenon is often caused by the above reasons. The solution is to increase the curing time. Third, the thickness of the ink layer will also affect the curing time. Because the UV light intensity allows the weight of the test piece: 2T has to gradually decrease in the process of penetrating the ink layer. The more it reaches the bottom layer of the ink film, the weaker the UV light. Therefore, if the ink layer is thicker, the curing speed is slower, on the contrary, it is faster
